Why keyword research is so important, how to do keyword research, keyword research

In the world of SEO i.e. Search Engine Optimization, we often struggle to keep up with Google's constant updates. But for a long time, the rule of search engine optimization that still remains in force is "keyword research".

But yes, although keyword research is the same as before, there has been a radical change in the type and structure of keywords. Earlier, search engine optimization could be done very easily with a simple keyword, now after doing a lot of research, only if you work on a specific keyword, it can be ranked. And so, in a sense, several changes in the rules of keyword research are also noticeable. Let's know how to do keyword research and what kind of changes have come in keyword research from before.

What is keyword research?

In fact, keyword research is a way to know what type of words people are constantly searching on Google. Besides, through this research, it is also known from where that specific keyword is being searched and who is searching. And if you know the right information, you can easily rank your website for specific keywords using that information and data. And so keyword research is very important to know what kind of content to write or how to write and place on your website.

Why is keyword research so important?

We all know how search engine optimization has changed over the past ten years. Needless to say, how much competition is there in this market. To survive the storm of search engine optimization, you must do keyword research very well. Google search rank can be obtained only by doing keyword research and using that information in a proper way.

In addition, due to the new Google search algorithm, it is also known that only if you create content according to what people are typing and searching, you will not get the rank anymore. Rather, what you put the keyword for in that content and how you use it also plays a very important role.

Apart from the keywords that people are searching with a lot, the keywords that are searching less on the same topic are also very important now. And so keyword research plays a very important role in knowing what kind of keywords to use in a specific topic and how to use them.

Why is the correct use of keywords so important?

Currently, Google's algorithm has been updated in such a way that Google understands what you are using this keyword for and exactly how. Google always sees the benefit of the website owners as less but the main objective of Google is whether the people who are searching are benefited by getting the right information or not. And so now it is not only necessary to use keywords but also to use those keywords correctly. Otherwise Sadher's ranking will never be seen again.

And so your keywords as well as why you're using them and whether they're useful to people or not all affect rankings. For example, let's say you want to create an article on the keyword “how to start blogging”. Here the word blog has several meanings within this keyword. For example, an article can be a blog, and a website with many articles is also called a blog. And so, first of all, it is necessary to understand what those who   are searching by typing "how to start blogging" actually want? Do they just want to know how to write a blog post or do they want to know everything from domain, hosting to design of a blog website?

And the best way to find out how to rank your article by using the keyword correctly is to search directly by typing this keyword and see what kind of information the ranked websites are giving.

In today's article, I will explain in detail how to use all this information to do keyword research and how to easily rank through your specific keyword research.

How to start that important keyword research?

First step: Select the topic

Make a list of what kind of articles you want to write and what kind of topics you need articles on for your business. Thus initially isolate 5-10 very important topics that are beneficial to your business. Based on these topics now you need to find specific keywords.

If you are regularly blogging i.e. updating articles then it is wise for now to work more on the topics that you are popular or that are earning you money. Think like a searcher. What would you like as a customer or visitor to the website you have? Think about what kind of keywords you would search with. Suppose you built your website on SEO.

Now your objective is to sell SEO software or tools. Affiliation of other tools can also be your objective. Since your website is above SEO, you will find many topics. Some of these topics are described below:

>> Inbound Marketing

>> Blogging

>> Email Marketing

>> Lead generation

>> SEO

>> Digital Marketing

>> Social Media Marketing, etc.

Now you have to do keyword research with these topics. See what keywords are searched for each of these topics each month and how many people search for those specific keywords each month. Besides the main topic, you have to do keyword research in the same way with other sub-topics included in that topic, who wrote them and how many people are searching every month.

Step 2: Find the sub-topic

Now that you have several topics selected, now you need to find some more subtopics of those topics. For example, since one of the topics of your website is SEO or search engine optimization, now you need to figure out some more subtopics of that topic. For example:

>> On Page Optimization

>> Off Page Optimization

>> Keyword Ranking

>> Technical SEO

>> How to do backlinks, etc.

Finding subtopics doesn't mean you've found specific keywords. It means that you think about your topic and subtopic and learn a lot of new things. And in this way you have to break down a topic and find out a very small topic. For example, it can be said that what is included in on-page optimization, such as meta description, focus keyword, keyword density, ie how many times the keyword can be used, etc.

After figuring these out there are several keyword tools that will help you find out which keywords are likely to rank. Besides, if you have been blogging for quite some time, then working on the keywords with which people are finding your website is also very fruitful.

And use the Google Analytics tool to find out which keywords people are finding your website with. After adding your website to Google Analytics, you can easily extract your desired keywords from the organic search results of the website.

Find sub-topics of all the topics you searched for your business and that way you will be able to find very specific keywords. In such cases, always compare yourself from a customer's point of view and think about what kind of words or phrases a customer can search on Google.

Third step: Importance of related keywords

These related keywords play a very important role in keyword research. If you search with a specific topic, what other words or sentences people search with that topic will also come up. If you are having trouble finding the right keyword, you can also increase the importance of specific keywords by finding related keywords.

That is, if you put those specific related keywords in your article along with the topic, then Google can easily understand what kind of article you really are and what information is in your article. For example, if you search for “how to start blogging” then several related keywords will also appear at the bottom of the Google search page:

The funniest part begins right now. If you search again on Google with a keyword from these related keywords, then the related keyword of that related keyword will also appear below your search page. Let's say we searched again on Google with the related keyword "how to earn from blog". Now related keywords of this keyword will also come with search results.

This way you will find more keywords related to your specific topic. But there are a number of content strategy tools to find them, too, which can help you pull out all the keywords at once.

Step 4: Keep your specific keywords and find any long tail keywords or big keywords

If you don't know the difference between keywords and long tail keywords then don't say it in the first place. Keywords are usually very short and specific. Keywords usually consist of one to three words. Long tail keywords, on the other hand, are keywords that contain that specific keyword along with several other words.

Keep an eye on whether your long tail keywords also contain the specific keyword. Because it is very important to have specific keywords in long tail keywords to rank in Google. Let's think a little about "blogging" and "how to start writing a blog" or "how to earn by blogging" which of these are specific keywords and which are long tail keywords?

Understand that blogging is the specific keyword here, and the rest are long tail keywords. One of which has the word blogging directly and the other has the word blog written in it if no blogging is written directly. It is very important to understand that while it is very difficult to rank in Google directly for the term blogging, it is relatively easy to rank in Google for the phrase how to start writing a blog.

But why is it easy to rank in the long tail?

Because whenever there is a specific keyword, then there are many searches for that too. So when someone searches with long tail keywords, it is easy to rank because the competition is very less for long tail keywords. And so when your keywords include specific keywords and long tail keywords, the chances of ranking increase.

Step Five: Research your competitors

But remember that just because your competitors are doing something doesn't mean you have to do it too. The exact same thing works for keywords. However, you need to do competitor research to know and understand your business more and better. Because your keywords may be different, but the ways to rank keywords are exactly the same. So research the competitors to see how they are ranking for a particular keyword.

If your keywords are among the keywords ranked by the competitors, then you need to understand that you need to work more on these keywords. Otherwise you will not be able to rank above the competitors. And so, look at the keywords that are more difficult to rank for later, rather look at the ones that you can easily rank for first and start working with those keywords.

SEMrush  is an excellent tool for finding competition for keywords  . Some of these tools are free to use. And with that free part, find out which keywords to rank on your website for now.

Step Six: Use Google Keyword Planner

Now maybe you have a lot of keywords and you want to sort out which keywords to work on. That's why  Google Keyword Planner  is an excellent tool. And like analytics in Google, you can use keyword planner tools absolutely free.

For this, first you need to create an account in Google AdWords. And just because you have to create an account, doesn't mean you have to advertise through AdWords.

With Keyword Planner you can easily find out how many times a keyword is being searched. By using the keyword planner you can separate the keywords that do not generate any search results from the long tail keywords. Because what's the use of ranking with keywords that no one is searching for?

Besides, you can find out which area is being searched more with these keywords   through Google Trends . Hopefully,  just like Google Analytics  and  Keyword Planner,  Google Trends can be used for free. Through this you can see if someone is searching in your specific area with your keyword or not. The reason for checking this is, suppose you want customers from Dhaka, but customers from Chittagong are searching with your keywords. But if area doesn't mean anything to you, i.e. if you want universal visitors, then you can ignore area based search.

Hope you found your specific keyword!

Hopefully you have found the specific keyword through the methods described above. Now you need to focus on your content. If you can now use your specific keywords, long tail keywords and related keywords within the content according to the rules of on page optimization then hopefully your keyword will definitely rank. In this case, remember that SEO is not a one-day job, but to maintain the rank, you need to do SEO constantly.

And the higher the page rank of your website using keywords, the more the value of your website will increase. Besides, remember that after a few days you have to do keyword research and see if people are still searching with those keywords!
